How to upload and organize your documents

Uploading documents

Upload single files or batches of up to 20 documents at once to keep your financial records organized and accessible.

Using the upload zone

  1. Navigate to Documents from the sidebar.
  2. Click the Upload button or drag files directly into the upload zone.
  3. The system detects the file type automatically and suggests a document category based on the filename.
  4. Select or confirm the document type from the dropdown.
  5. Add optional tags for easier searching.
  6. Click Upload to save.

Bulk upload

Upload multiple files at once to save time:

  1. Multi-file drag and drop: Select up to 20 files from your computer and drag them into the upload zone, or click Upload and select multiple files.
  2. ZIP file upload: Upload a single ZIP file and the system automatically extracts its contents. Each file inside the ZIP is treated as a separate document.
  3. File count validation: The system checks your remaining upload quota before processing. If the batch exceeds your available quota, you receive a warning before any files are uploaded.
  4. Review each file's document type and adjust if needed.
  5. Click Upload All to save the entire batch.

Supported formats

Maximum file size: 10MB per file.

Progress tracking

When you upload multiple files, the system displays a progress indicator for each file:

  • You can see which files have been uploaded successfully and which are still in progress.
  • If a file fails to upload, the error is shown inline so you can fix the issue and retry that specific file.
  • Successfully uploaded files are not affected by failures in other files.

Choose the appropriate type when uploading:

Adding tags

Tags help you find documents later:

  • Add descriptive tags like "Q3", "2024", "vendor-name".
  • Use consistent naming for easier filtering.
  • You can add multiple tags to each document.

Tips

  • Use clear, descriptive filenames before uploading.
  • PDF format is recommended for most documents.
  • Ensure scanned images are legible.
  • Add tags immediately for better organization.
  • When uploading in bulk, group similar document types together so you can review and categorize them faster.
  • Check that each file is under 10MB before uploading to avoid errors.
