What gets tracked

Every user action is recorded with five pieces of information:

Data pointDescription
WhoEmail address of the user who performed the action
WhatAction type (e.g., created, updated, deleted, status changed)
WhenTimestamp of the action
Which recordEntity type and record ID (e.g., Invoice INV-2025-042)
DetailsMetadata such as amounts, old and new status values, or changed fields

Settings audit log

For a focused view of user actions with date filtering:

  1. Go to Settings > Audit Log.
  2. Filter by user and action type using the dropdowns.
  3. Select a date range to narrow results.
  4. Click any entry to view full details.

The settings audit log is best for compliance reviews where you need to examine actions by a specific user or within a specific time period.

Activity page

For a full-featured company-wide activity feed with entity type filtering and direct links to affected records, use the Activity log page.

The activity page lets you filter by entity type (invoices, bills, employees, challans, and more) and click any entry to jump straight to the record.

Per-record activity

Individual detail pages — including invoices, bills, employees, loans, and challans — show an activity timeline scoped to that specific record. This gives you a focused audit trail for any single record without navigating away from it.
