Export compliance report
Track SOFTEX, EDF, e-FIRC, and realization status across all your export invoices
Export compliance report
Monitor FEMA compliance for every export invoice in one place. The report shows filing status, payment realization progress, and a compliance score so you can spot overdue items before they attract penalties.
Opening the report
- Go to Reports from the sidebar.
- Under FEMA Reports, click Export Summary.
The report loads automatically with the current month's data.
Date range
Use the controls at the top to change the reporting period:
- Quick presets — This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, Year to Date.
- Fiscal year selector — Choose a full financial year (e.g. FY 2026-27).
- Custom range — Pick specific start and end dates from the calendar.
The selected range filters all summary cards, alerts, and table rows below.
Summary cards
Five cards appear at the top of the page:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total export value | Combined value of all export invoices in the period, in both foreign currency and INR |
| Realized amount | INR received so far, with percentage of total |
| SOFTEX status | Number filed out of total required (pre-October 2026 invoices) |
| e-FIRC status | Number of e-FIRCs received out of total required |
| Compliance score | Overall percentage based on filing and realization progress, colour-coded green (80%+) or yellow |
Compliance alerts
Below the summary cards, the report highlights items that need your attention:
- Critical alerts (red) — Overdue items. For example, a SOFTEX filing that is 40 days past its 30-day deadline, or an EDF not filed within 30 days of month-end.
- Warning alerts (yellow) — Approaching deadlines. For example, a realization deadline coming up in 30 days.
Each alert shows the invoice number and a description of the issue. Click the invoice number to go directly to the invoice detail page.
Export invoices table
The main table lists every export invoice in the selected period with these columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Invoice # | Invoice number, clickable to open the detail page |
| Client | Client or party name |
| Date | Invoice date in DD-MMM-YYYY format |
| Amount (USD) | Outstanding amount in the invoice's original currency |
| Amount (INR) | Equivalent amount in Indian Rupees |
| SOFTEX | Filing status badge — Pending, Draft, Submitted, Certified, or Overdue |
| e-FIRC | Certificate status — Awaiting Payment, Partial, Received, or Missing |
| eBRC | BRC status badge — Pending, Applied, Received, or Not Required |
| Realization % | Realization percentage with colour coding — green (100%), yellow (50–99%), red (below 50%) |
| Realization | Payment status — Pending, partially realized with percentage, Fully Realized, or Overdue |
Note: For invoices dated on or after October 1, 2026, the SOFTEX column reflects EDF status instead, since EDF replaces SOFTEX under the updated FEMA regulations.
Status badge colours
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Complete — filed, received, or fully realized |
| Yellow | In progress — draft, submitted, or partially realized |
| Grey | Not yet started — pending or awaiting payment |
| Red | Overdue — past the filing or realization deadline |
Pending realization card
If any invoices have outstanding payments, a card below the table shows:
- Amount pending — total unrealized value in INR.
- Invoice count — number of invoices with pending payments.
FEMA compliance notes
An information card at the bottom summarizes key deadlines:
- SOFTEX filing deadline — 30 days from invoice date (pre-October 2026 invoices).
- EDF filing deadline — 30 days from the end of the invoice month (October 2026 onwards).
- Realization deadline — 15 months from invoice date for foreign-currency invoices.
- e-FIRC — Obtain from your bank within 15 days of the payment crediting your account.
- eBRC — Self-certify on the DGFT portal after realization. GSTIN, GST Invoice Number, and GST Invoice Date required since January 13, 2026 (Public Notice No. 42/2025-26).
- EDPMS closure — Entries auto-close when payment is fully realized and e-BRC is generated.
Exporting the report
Click Export Excel in the header to download the full report. The dropdown also offers CSV, PDF, and JSON formats. Use Print to generate a print-friendly version.
You need the reports.export permission to see the export buttons. If they are missing, ask your team admin to grant the permission.
Tips
- Review weekly. Catching an overdue SOFTEX or EDF early avoids the Rs. 5,000/day penalty for continuing contraventions.
- Filter by date range before exporting. The downloaded file contains only the invoices shown on screen, so set the correct period first.
- Use the compliance score to prioritise. A score below 80% (yellow) means at least one filing or realization item needs attention.
- Check alerts after each payment receipt. When a client pays, verify that the e-FIRC status updates and the realization percentage moves forward.
